The nagyka (Russian нага́йка nagayka < nogaika "Nogai whip") is a whip used by the Cossacks of Russia primarily as a horsewhip, but also as a wilderness self-defense tool. It originated with the Nogai people of Siberia, after whom they are named; their name in the Turkic language of the Nogai is kamcha (similar to the Turkish kamci).
Nagyka are made of braided leather strips, and is thick, with a round cross-section. Some nagyka featured a metal piece on the tip for added damage potential; these were known as volkoboy ("wolf killer") and were used in hunting.
